Vibrate Space

A creative home for the next generation.
‍
Vibrate Space is Surf Ghana Collective’s creative hub in Accra, built to give emerging artists and creatives access to professional tools, knowledge, space and community. Music production, DJing, photography, film, workshops and cultural programs come together under one roof.

Access changes what is possible.

Talent is everywhere. Access to equipment, professional spaces, knowledge and networks is not. Vibrate Space was created to reduce that gap. We provide an accessible environment where emerging creatives can experiment, learn, collaborate and develop their practice — whether they are recording their first track, learning an instrument, developing film or meeting collaborators for their next project. The objective is simple: give people the tools to create and the space to grow.

From skate culture to a creative space.

Vibrate grew naturally from the community around Surf Ghana and Freedom. Music, photography, fashion, skateboarding and visual culture had always existed around the skate community. What was missing was permanent infrastructure where young creatives could actually work.
In 2022, Surf Ghana opened Vibrate Space in Accra as a community recording studio and creative learning platform. Spotify & Pg Lang supported the launch and subsequently expanded its partnership with Vibrate to support emerging Ghanaian creators, education, residencies, and artist-led programming. Since then, Vibrate has continued to evolve into a multidisciplinary creative hub.

Designed for the Community
‍‍
Surf House was developed with DeRoché Strohmayer through the adaptive reuse of an existing building in Busua. The architecture responds directly to its environment, using passive cooling, cross-ventilation, locally sourced materials and a reduced-carbon concrete incorporating laterite. The project also preserved existing trees and created shaded communal areas connected to the beach. In 2023, the project received the , recognizing its approach to sustainable construction, community impact and youth empowerment.
