Skateboarding & youth culture Accra
Freedom Skatepark opened in 2021 as the first skatepark of its kind in West Africa and became a landmark for Ghana's growing skateboarding community. After the closure of the original site, the community continued through skate programs, DIY infrastructure, the Freedom Lab and new initiatives supporting the next generation of Ghanaian skateboarders.
Surf House
Surfing & community — Busua
Opened in 2023, Surf House is our home for surfing in Busua.It hosts coaching, youth programs, visiting mentors and the Sankofa Surf Club, while supporting the surfers and emerging professionals shaping the future of Ghanaian surfing.Surf House also supports board repair, shaping knowledge and skills development within the surf community.
Vibrate Space
Music, film & creative learning — Accra
Opened in 2022, Vibrate Space is Surf Ghana's creative community hub in Accra. Recording, rehearsal, DJ practice, workshops, artist development, photography and film come together under one roof, giving emerging creatives access to equipment, knowledge and professional environments. The space is also home to the Vibrate Film Lab, dedicated to analogue photography, experimentation and visual storytelling.
Sankofa Surf Club
SANKOFA SURF CLUB
Building the next generation of surfersLaunched in 2024, Sankofa Surf Club provides structured surf training and development opportunities for young surfers. Our programs combine surfing with swimming, fitness, mentorship, nutrition education, competition opportunities and cultural exchange. A growing focus on girls and young women is helping make surfing more accessible and representative of the communities around us
